Lerici and Gulf of Poets, Ligurian coast
” A lovely house closed by the sea-side surrounded by the soft and sublime scenery of the bay of Lerici “
Mary Shelley
Nail and Bonnie, a lovely couple from Ireland, chose the eastern Ligurian Riviera to celebrate their unforgettable destination wedding in Italy. Their day began at Villa Magni, also known as Villa Shelley, in the charming village of San Terenzo – once home to the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley.
The blue waters of the Gulf of Poets framed this romantic celebration, a place admired by Lord Byron – who famously swam from Portovenere to visit the Shelleys in Lerici – and by literary icons such as Virginia Woolf, George Sand, Petrarch, Eugenio Montale, Gabriele D’Annunzio, and Filippo Tommaso Marinetti.
I’m proud to share this celebration filled with poetry, history, and the charm of Italy’s Ligurian coast.
